Those who know me.....know that my favorite time of year is Halloween. The crisp fall air, jack-o-lanters, witches, colors of orange, purple, and black.....the stores stocking shelves with candy and costumes; houses decorated with spider webs, flying zombies, and tomb stones. A plethora of horror movies are on tv. For one day a year, people who normally don't, can dress up and pretend to be something else and celebrate changing character. Ever since I was a child, I have documented Halloween with my camera. Below are some examples of how I express my Halloween visions through my lens:
I absolutely LOVE witches! I remember when I was in Kindergarten, I dressed up as a witch for Halloween. I remember being afraid of myself. LOL.
I'm obsessed with silhouettes. Especially.....witch silhouettes.
and who can forget trick-or-treating?!
These two were plotting out their trick-or-treat strategy. Of course I always add to their strategy by requesting my favorite. I sometimes yell out, "Make sure you get me a Snickers or Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!!" It's a good energy boost en route.
Some nostalgia here; The capture below reminds me of when I was a child and how I felt after trick-or-treating. There was kind of a dark silence at night compared to the craziness of Halloween day.
She was just taking it all in while in her PJ's on Halloween night. Tired of course...since I wouldn't let her go home unless her bag was FILLED with candy! Mommy and Daddy need treats too!
